In line with NHS Fife policy the Practice is making changes to the prescribing of medicines for Anxiety & Insomnia eg Diazepam and Zoplicone.
As a result prescriptions for these medicines will NOT be replaced if lost and will NOT be issued early.
In addition changes you may notice will include:
- The quantity on a prescription will be reduced to a maximum of 28 days’ supply
- You may be asked to switch to an alternative medicine
- You may be asked to reduce your use of your medicine, with support from your GP or other services
- The medicine may be removed from repeat prescription if it is only intended for short term use
- You may have to see your GP before further prescriptions will be issued
- You may be asked to attend for more frequest medicine reviews with your GP
- These medicines will not be routinely added to repeat prescriptions
PLEASE DO NOT
- Ask Reception staff to request a further prescription
- Ask our Traige Nurse for a GP appointment to obtain these medicines
